Story

On December 1st 2018, I am taking on a Gutsy Challenge and will be cycling over 170km through the NSW Snowy Mountains as part of the Tour de France affiliated L’Etape event.

Those who know me well will know I love cycling but the distance of this event combined with the mountainous climbs will be the challenge! That said. I am getting Gutsy in support of the Gastro-Intestinal cancer patients and their families, who face far greater challenges every day.

I am raising funds for the GI Cancer Institute to assist with developing and conducting clinical trials in Australia. GI (gastro-intestinal) cancer affects the oesophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bowel.

Every 45 minutes an Australian dies because of GI cancer and over 24,000 are diagnosed every year. The five year survival rate is dismally low compared to other cancers so clinical trials are critical to improving treatment and overall outcomes for patients with GI Cancer.

My goal is to individually raise to $3,500 dollars and combined with my fellow riding team raise over $20,000 towards new research and help make GI cancer a disease of the past.

Your support will give people living with GI cancer better treatments. Please help me to get to the finish line by donating today!

All donations over $2 are tax-deductible and when made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to the GI Cancer Institute.

Thanks so much for your support!
